IBDMAR, represented by its three former presidents — Professors Drs. Thiago Carvalho Borges (2015-2019), Tiago Vinicius Zanella (2019-2022) and Leonardo de Camargo Subtil (2022-2025) — and by its current president, Prof. Dr. André de Paiva Toledo (2025-2028), and in fulfillment of its objectives of promoting scientific debate and development of the Law of the Sea, publicly expresses its support for the Brazilian application to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (TIDM).
The appointment, made by the Federative Republic of Brazil, through the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, falls on the name of Prof. Dr. George Rodrigo Bandeira Galindo, to compose the TIDM in the term from 2026 to 2035.
